All 10 clubs will compete in the league stage using a round-robin home-and-away format, same as in the previous two editions.

The playoffs will include the following fixtures: Eliminator, Qualifier 1, Qualifier 2, and Final. The top four clubs advance to these rounds.

Only half of the tournament’s schedule—21 matches spread over 10 locations, with each side playing three to five matches—has been released by BCCI due to the nation’s general elections.

Regarding the tournament, 74 games in all will take place at various locations, and the remaining schedule, which includes the playoffs, will probably be revealed in the next few days.

For the IPL 2024, all ten clubs have finalized their squads; however, a few alterations have occurred as a result of withdrawals and injuries.

A few teams have also added new coaches and leaders.

Captain of the Chennai Super Kings is MS Dhoni

Stephen Fleming, coach

Chennai Super Kings, who won their fifth IPL crown last year in a record-tying manner, would be the tournament favorites going into it.

Although Dhoni will captain the CSK once more, this season is likely to be his last since he chose to play for one more season after telling the supporters that he would return last year as a thank you from his dad.

Captain of the Delhi Capitals: Rishabh Pant

Ricky Ponting is the coach.

Pant will head the Delhi Capitals team once again when he returns to cricket in the IPL in 2024.

After a tragic accident in December 2022, he had various injuries that required 14 months of recuperation.

Without Pant Under David Warner’s leadership, Delhi won only five of their 14 games and totaled 10 points to place ninth in the points standings the previous season.

Shubman Gill, captain of the Gujarat Titans

Ashish Nehra, coach

Shubman Gill was named captain of the Gujarat Titans shortly after Hardik Pandya, the previous captain, left to join the Mumbai Indians during the IPL 2024 auction.

Gujarat entered the competition for the first time in the 2022 season, winning the championship in that year and qualifying for the final the year after.

The first time in Gill’s career that he would lead an IPL team.

Captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders: Shreyas Iyer

Coach: Pandit Chandrakant

After missing the previous season owing to an injury, Shreyas Iyer will be guiding KKR in his comeback to the competition.

With six victories in 14 games played previous season when Nitish Rana was captain, KKR ended in seventh place.

Captain of the Lucknow Super Giants: KL Rahul

Head coach: Justin Langer

Following an injury that kept him out of action halfway through the previous season, KL Rahul will also return to captain his LSG team.

For the rest of the 2023 competition, Krunal Pandya led the team, leading them to a third-place result.

Before the IPL 2024, LSG named Justin Langer as their new head coach, replacing Andy Flower, who left the position to become an RCB player.

Hardik Pandya, captain of the Mumbai Indians

Head coach: Mark Boucher

The Mumbai Indians’ lineup underwent a significant alteration when Hardik Pandya took over as captain in favor of Rohit Sharma.

After playing with the Gujarat Titans for two seasons, Hardik returned to MI.

With five IPL championships as MI’s captain, Rohit’s illustrious and devoted tenure came to an end.

Captain of the Punj Kings: Shikhar Dhawan

Trevor Bayliss, coach

After being appointed to the position in the 2023 season, Dhawan will be captain of the Punjab Kings for the next season.

With six victories in 14 games, Punjab placed seventh in the points standings the previous season under his leadership.

Captain of the Rajasthan Royals: Sanju Samson

Coach: Sangakkara Kumar

The first-time champion Rajasthan Royals are still led by Sanju Samson, and he plans to make an impact this season.

Rajasthan finished seventh in the previous season with seven victories and 14 points from 14 games played under Sanju’s leadership.

Captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore: Faf du Plessis

Andy Flower, coach

In the IPL2024, Andy Flower, who signed from LSG, will take over as head coach of RCB, replacing Faf du Plessis.

In preparation for the next season, RCB recently debuted their new squad uniform and emblem and formally changed their name to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Despite Virat Kohli’s outstanding batting performance last year, RCB only managed seven victories in 14 games to finish sixth in the points standings.
Hyderabad’s Sunrisers
Pat Cummins, captain

Daniel Vettori is the coach.

After Daniel Vettori was chosen head coach, SRH picked Pat Cummins as their new captain, taking Aiden Markram’s position.

Vettori took over as Sunrisers’ head coach after Brian Lara was fired after three seasons.

With only four victories in 14 games, SRH had a terrible season and placed last in the points standings.
