On Wednesday, another actress and close friend, Remyaa Joseph, said that actor Arundhathi Nair, who was gravely wounded six days ago and is fighting for her life, needed financial assistance for her surgery.

On March 14 at night, Arundhathi and her brother were riding their bikes back to their Thiruvananthapuram home when they were struck by an automobile, according to Remyaa, who spoke with PTI. Her brother was eventually released from Ananthapuri Hospital with minor injuries after they were brought there right after, according to her.

Despite the story becoming viral, Remyaa, who is well-known for her appearances in Tamil serials like “Thendral Vandhu Ennai Thodum” and “Eeramana Rojave,” said that no one in the Tamil business has stepped out to support the actor.

“Arundhathi has acted as the principal female character in five Tamil films. Her injuries are so serious that the doctors thought she would not be conscious until yesterday. However, we received no communication from the Tamil film business or its nadigar sangam. Even without financial assistance, it would have been wonderful if someone had called to find out how she was doing. Remyaa said, “I realize it’s not required.

Arundhathi has only appeared in one Malayalam film to date, despite being born and raised in Thiruvananthapuram. Remyaa said that all it took for the Malayalam industry to step up was one call.

When relatives and friends launched a fundraising drive for the wounded actress, several people began mocking them, Arundhathi’s sister Arathy told PTI.

“For the last several days in particular, my sister has been the Ananthapuri Hospital’s top priority due to her terrible injuries. However, a lot of individuals are claiming on the internet that this is all a hoax. As we are all rushing about in the hospital, we had to deal with such a type of hostility,” said Arathy, an aspiring actress who is now employed by a Bengaluru-based educational organization.

Remyaa said that Gopika Anil, a friend and another Malayalam actress, initiated the fundraising on her page, which is when the issue arose.

She took the initiative to start the fundraiser while we were in the hospital. Arundhathi provides all of her family’s income. Their family is not wealthy, therefore, they need assistance paying for her further medical care. Remyaa said, “A few of her actor friends are helping out, but we can only do so much—it’s not like we make crores.”

She claims that Arundhathi also suffered from fractures in her arm and collar bones, and the family had to pay around Rs 5 lakh for the necessary surgery to correct them.

There had been no signal from her brain until the day before yesterday, but yesterday, Arathy said, there was a little movement in her left cornea. She also mentioned that the physicians were now getting ready to do brain surgery.

“I’m not even sure how much the hospital will bill when her brain has to be fixed. Remyaa said, “We are waiting for her to stabilize a little before doing any further procedures; she has already had two cardiac arrests.

Remyaa said that when strange inquiries and demands began to come in on the G-Pay number, they were forced to take the fundraising campaign down from social media and distribute it only to a select circle of friends and family.

“It’s unbelievable how callous we have become to seek out the contact information of other celebrities when we call someone whose loved one is hospitalized and battling for her life? Some of the calls were that awful, Remyaa claimed.
